The Tutankhamun Discovery 100th Anniversary coin £5 Silver 2022 Proof is an interesting numismatic proposition depicting the pharaoh Tutankhamun. He reigned from 1333 to 1323 BC and was a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. In 2022, the property celebrates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the pharaoh's tomb, which took place in 1922 by the English archaeologist Howard Carter.
The product is minted from Ag.925 silver, weighing 28.28 grams, diameter 38.61 mm, proof standard. The mintage is 2,682 pieces. Moreover, this extraordinary piece was produced by The Royal Mint. The product was placed in its original packaging. The coin is guaranteed by the British government as to its legality, purity and origin of the metal, and is also a legal tender in the issuer's country.
Obverse shows the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination and year, designed by Jody Clark.
The reverse of the coin depicts Pharaoh Tutankhamun. The reverse also bears the inscription "Discovery of Tutankhamun's Tomb". Laura Clancy is responsible for the design of the reverse.
