The Lord of the Rings film is a trilogy that consists of - The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The films were made in 2001, 2002, and 2003, based on the novel by JRR Tolkien.The silver coins were minted from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing one troy ounce and measuring 40 mm in diameter, in the proof standard. The products have elements made of platinum. The set mintage is 499 pieces. The Royal Dutch Mint, commissioned by New Zealand Post, is responsible for producing the value.Obverses they present a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Additionally, the obverses include information about the issuing country, weight, purity of the metal and date of issue. The obverse also bears the inscription "MIDDLE-EARTH".The reverses of the silver coins depict: Orthanc, the stronghold of the evil sorcerer Saruman, and Barad-dur, where the spirit of the Dark Lord Sauron resides. On the reverse there is the inscription "THE TWO TOWERS", "20th ANNIVERSARY" and the nominal value of the coin. Sacha Lees is responsible for the design of the reverse.
