Samoa coin: Crystal Coin - The Year of Tiger $2 Silver 2022 Proof is a coin that presents a tiger, one of the 12 animals of the Chinese lunar calendar. The tiger symbolizes courage, strength and is considered the ruler of animals. Additionally, the reverse is covered with crystals from the Czech glass manufacturer - Preciosa.
The copy was minted from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing 31.1 grams, 50 mm in diameter, in the proof standard. The product has a mintage of only 1,000 pieces.
This unique piece was designed by Petra Brodská, DiS and produced by the Czech Mint, and is also an official means of payment in Samoa. The coin has a guarantee as to its legality, purity and origin of the metal. The product is delivered in the original box with a certificate of authenticity.
The obverse of the coin is decorated with the image of the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, the coat of arms of Samoa, twelve animals from the Chinese calendar, and contains information about the year of minting and the nominal value of the coin. The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The reverse shows the image of a tiger. The reverse has nine orange crystals and the inscriptions "YEAR OF THE TIGER", "YEAR OF THE TIGER", and a Chinese character.
