Lunar III: Year of the Rabbit 5 oz Silver 2023 is the fourth release of the Lunar III series. The previous coins in the series were the Year of the Mouse 2020, the Year of the Buffalo 2021 and the Year of the Tiger 2022. The lunar series refers to 12 animals that are representatives of the Chinese lunar calendar. The year 2023 belongs to the rabbit. The Chinese zodiac sign Rabbit falls in the years 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023.
All Lunar III coins are extremely popular every year among both investors and collectors, and the design of the values is prepared with the utmost care and precision by world-famous designers. The coin was minted from Ag.9999 silver, weighing 5 troy ounces and having a diameter of 60.6 mm. The renowned producer of precious metals - The Perth Mint - is responsible for issuing the coin. The copy is protected by a micro-engraved letter on the reverse side.
The obverse of the Year of the Rabbit coin is decorated with the image of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA". Additionally, on the obverse side there is information about the nominal value, weight and mintage quality, designed by Jody Clark.
Reverse depicts two rabbits. One of them has erect ears, and the other jumps towards the branch. The value also shows the Chinese character for "rabbit" and the year of issue. The designer was Ing Ing Jong.
