The item commemorates the adventures of the Florentine sailor Amerigo Vespucci. He was an Italian merchant, navigator, sea traveler and cartographer.The copy was minted from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing 31.1 grams, with a diameter of 37 mm, in the proof standard. The product has a mintage of only 1,000 pieces.This unique piece was designed by Mgr. Petr Horák and produced by the Czech Mint, and is also the official tender in Niue. The coin has a guarantee as to its legality, purity and origin of the metal. The product is delivered in the original box with a certificate of authenticity.Obverse The coin is decorated with the image of the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, the inscription "NIUE ISLAND" and the denomination and year of the coin. The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.The reverse shows a portrait of Amerigo Vespucci. The surface of the coin is filled with waves along with a modern sailing ship, which the Italian Navy has named "Amerigo Vespucci". The inscription "OBJEVENI AMERIKY", "AMERIGO VESPUCCI" is placed on the reverse.
