New Zealand collectible coin: Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy colored 1 oz Silver 2023 Proof is a unique coin commemorating the 40th anniversary of the book series "Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy", written and illustrated by Dame Lynley Dodd.
The item is minted from pure Ag.999 silver, weighing 1 troy ounce and having a diameter of 40 mm, in the proof standard, commissioned by New Zealand Post. Moreover, the coin has a limited mintage of only 750 pieces. Importantly, each piece is delivered in an exclusive case.
The obverse of the coin is decorated with the image of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown. The obverse contains information about the issue date, issuing country, weight and purity of the metal. The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
Reverse features a colored Hairy Maclary dog. The reverse also bears the inscription "OUT OF THE GATE AND OFF FOR A WALK WENT HAIRY MACLARY FROM DONALDSON'S DAIRY", "LYNLEY DODD" and the nominal value of the item.
