The symbolism of the holiday is the memory of those who have passed away.The silver coin was minted from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing 1 troy ounce and having a diameter of 40 mm, in the proof standard. BH Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH was responsible for its execution, and the minting was commissioned by New Zealand Post.The mintage of the silver coin is only 800 pieces, all delivered in an elegant case with an attached certificate of authenticity.Obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Additionally, the obverse contains information about the issuing country, date of issue, weight and purity of the metal.The reverse of the coin shows Tāwhirimātea, colored elements and the inscription "TEKAU TARA", "MATARIKI". The reverse side also contains information about the nominal value of the item. The reverse was designed by Tolaga Bay.
