The limited Archey's Frog Colored 2 oz Silver 2022 Antique coin is a copy that shows an extinct, endemic frog that inhabited Northern New Zealand.
Interestingly, the name of the amphibian comes from the name of Sir Gilbert Archey's Auckland Institute. The frog reached a maximum body length of 37 mm.The silver coin was minted from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing two troy ounces and having a diameter of 50 mm, in the antique standard. The coin was created by BH Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH and the minting was commissioned by New Zealand Post.The mintage of the silver coin is only 350 pieces, all delivered in an elegant case with an attached certificate of authenticity.The obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Additionally, the obverse contains information about the issuing country, date of issue, weight and purity of the metal.The reverse of the silver coin is decorated with the image of a colored Archey's Frog, the inscription "ARCHEY'S FROG" and the nominal value of the coin. The reverse was designed by Dave Burke.
