100th Anniversary of the Discovery of Insulin The Silver 2021 Proof Piedfort coin is an asset commemorating the 100th anniversary of the isolation of insulin.  This great discovery was made by Sir Frederick Banting in 1921. Two years later, he won the Nobra Prize as a 32-year-old man.The value is minted from Ag.925 silver, in the proof and piedfort standards. Interestingly, the coin does not contain information about the weight and purity of the metal. Moreover, this extraordinary piece was produced by The Royal Mint. The item has individual, certified packaging.The obverse of the coin shows the likeness of the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, and information about the year of minting the coin and its nominal value. The obverse was designed by Jody Clark.Reverse shows the inscription "Insulin" and the summary formula. The reverse designer was Iris De La Torre.
