Why is it worth buying a coin?
The prices of bullion coins are slightly higher than those of bars of the same weight. This is due to the higher costs of coin production. Investing money in coins is especially recommended for investors who care about high liquidity. The ease of authentication verification means that coins - especially popular ones - can be sold immediately anywhere in the world. Coins are a good solution for people who value both investment and numismatic value. In the case of some values, annual changes in the coin's image make it increase in collector value.
Why is it worth buying a bar?
Due to the lower production cost, bars are the cheapest form of investing in metals. Investing money in bars is especially recommended for long-term investments aimed at higher profits. At the same time, it is worth noting that bars are easier to store than coins. In the case of silver bars, we can be almost 100% sure that they will not be tarnished - unlike silver coins.
How to check the authenticity of a coin?
The easiest way to verify a coin's authenticity is to use mint lines. These are rulers containing holes corresponding to the dimensions of the corresponding coins. A scale will also be useful to check the authenticity of coins. If the weight, diameter and width of the coin match, we can be almost sure that the coin is authentic. The principle of operation of mint lines is based on the fact that it is not possible to counterfeit all parameters of a gold coin. If the weight of the counterfeit coin were correct, the diameter or width would not match. An excellent way to check a coin is to use a spectrometer, thanks to which we can "see through the coin", i.e. examine the content of the precious metal.
